"Concertul din sufragerie" al lui Elton John a strâns 8 milioane de dolari VIDEO

Artistul şi prietenii săi faimoşi au încins atmosfera pentru o cauză supremă: strângerea de fonduri pentru combaterea coronavirusului.

Aşa cum a promis, Elton John a organizat în propria sufragerie un concert cu alte nume mari ale scenei mondiale. Bine, nu i-a scos din izolare şi i-a invitat pe canapelele lui, ci a făcut un live streaming pentru canalul Fox, numit iHeartRadio Living Room Concert for America şi difuzat sâmbătă noapte.

"Sunt atât de onorat că am putut găzdui iHeartRadio Living Room Concert for America!", a scris Elton John pe pagina lui de Instagram. "Am fost profund mişcat de poveştile atâtor eroi care sunt în prima linie şi îi ajută pe ceilalţi. Vă mulţumesc tuturor celor care aţi urmărit show-ul şi aţi făcut donaţii şi, totodată, le mulţumesc şi artiştilor care s-au implicat în acest proiect".

E vorba despre participarea artiştilor Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw, Shawn Mendes şi Camila Cabello, Backstreet Boys, Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, Dave Grohl, H.E.R., Sam Smith, Demi Lovato, Billie Joe Armstrong.

Totodată, şi-au arătat suportul şi vedete precum Ciara, Russell Wilson, Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Seacrest, Lizzo, Ken Jeong, Melissa McCarthy şi Ben Falcone.

În urma ineditului eveniment, s-au strâns peste 8 milioane de dolari, bani care au fost redirecţionaţi către Feeding America şi First Responders Children's Foundation, două dintre fundaţiile care luptă în prima linie cu limitarea infectării cu COVID-19. Din această sumă, jumătate de milion de dolari a fost donată de compania Procter&Gamble.
